Organizinational Meeting 18May – Kid’s Sailing Camp

We will be having an organizational meeting for those adults interested in having their kids attend the Kids Sailing Camp which is scheduled for June 28-30.  The meeting will be held this Saturday, May 18, following the morning race and pancake breakfast, approximately 11:00 a.m. (depending on how long the morning race goes).  We will meet on Wayne and Danielle Catoe’s boat.

The purpose of the meeting will be to outline plans for the camp, including itinerary, rules, non-sailing activities, cost, food, etc.  If you have a child who wants to participate in the camp, or if you would just like to volunteer to help, please plan to attend the meeting.

Right now we are opening the camp to kids ages 8-16.  They must know how to swim.  They must be relatives of club members.  Those who participated last year are invited to come again this year.  We would like to use them as “mentors” or “counselors” for the first-timers, but hope to offer some more advanced sailing activities for them also.

Please let me know whether you can attend the meeting on Saturday.  If you cannot attend, but have a child who wishes to participate in the camp, I need to know that as well.  In either case, please respond to this e-mail with the names and ages of your kids who want to come learn how to sail and whether or not you can come on Saturday!

Feel free to email me if you have any questions or comments before then.
Have a great day!
