Weekend Race Oct 19 and Dock Sale Oct 20

Hello again!

I urge you all to come out for the last races of the Fall Series and the 30 Plus Regatta, to be held this Saturday, October 19. The races so far this fall have ranged from non-existent (due to the lack of wind) or absolutely nail biting as the yachts and their crews have battled all the way from the starting pin to the finish line! We have been averaging 12 boats in the regular series and 5 or 6 in the 30 Plus Regatta Races, which is a good turnout. It would be great to have EVERYONE who is interested in racing their boat to do so this weekend. What an amazing sight to see 20 or more boats sailing at one time!

Many thanks to Race Captain Dave Guyrsh and his committee for making it fun and keeping it honest!

Saturday’s schedule is:
9:15am Skippers meeting
10:00am First horn for 4th Fall Race

1:15pm. Skippers meeting
2:00pm 3rd 30 Plus Regatta

As an added incentive to come out and race or crew, we will be serving pancakes, sausage and juice for the racers in between the races on Saturday. Food is free but contributions to the WLSC jar are always appreciated and are used to offset the cost of the breakfast.

See you Saturday!

Ahoy Sailors!

A quick reminder of the Nautical Flea Market on the dock this Sunday afternoon, October 20. The “official” start time is 1:00 p.m. to allow for a make-up race in the morning if necessary. However, there is no “rule” regarding early sales, so if you are participating as a buyer and/or seller, come on out in the morning and see what’s for sale!

If you have a slip at Lakeshore, please place your “For Sale” items in the area around your boat. Please have your items priced. If you have items you’d like to sell, but can’t be on the dock on Sunday, please send me an e-mail or else arrange for someone else to handle your stuff. If you have “Free” items, you can either bring them up to the club dock box for display or put them out with your other stuff.

We will set up tables on the floating dock and around the club dock box for “Free” items and for those who have items to sell but who don’t have a slip on the dock.

We will have the “WLSC Contribution” jar out for those who’d like to give something back to the Club for this opportunity to buy/sell/trade boat related items.
