Update on 2913’s Commodore Challenge – “GREENE CHALLENGE”

Ahoy Racers!
Only one captain has submitted an elapsed time to me this year for running The Greene Challenge.  Russ Veldman and Commodore Gayle on their Grampian 30 laid down a great elapsed time of 0:43:59 on March 10, 2013, one day before Russ went in for shoulder surgery.  If you have raced the Greene Challenge this year and want me to record your elapsed time, please send me an email to:   wlscracecaptain@aol.com
Although Russ and Gayle’s time will be tough to beat, there still is time.  But you only have until October 31 to submit your time to me So when the winds pick up over the next week, head out to Lakeshore and take on The Greene Challenge!!  There will be an award for the winner at the Fall meeting on November 2.
As per my email dated March 24:
The Commodore Challenge for 2013 is named in honor of Skip Greene, WLSC Commodore in 1984.
The "GREENE CHALLENGE" is conducted as follows:
	- It is a self-timed, one boat race from the buoy line of Lakeshore Marina, to around the big island to the east (clockwise or counter-clockwise), and back to the buoy line of the Marina (approx 3.3 nautical miles).
	- You pick the time, the sailboat, and the crew and record your own elapsed time.
	- You can race as many times as you like; all posts will be shown on the WLSC website.
	- After your race, provide the following information to Race Captain Dave Gurysh:
				- Your name and crew name(s)
				- Boat model and name
				- The elapsed time (hour, minutes, seconds)
				- The date of your race
				- Brief description of the wind conditions and any other interesting facts.
	- All times will be adjusted by the US Sailing PHRF handicap of the boat.
	- The time for participating in this race is ANYTIME between Jan 1, 2013 and Oct 31, 2013.
	- Please refer to link "Commodore Challenge Race" on the WLSC website for additional information about this race
