2015: Another successful Watauga Lake Summer Sailstice Raftup!

Despite dicey forecasts and a pretty impressive squall that rolled through a couple of hours before most boats began arriving, seven sturdy skippers and crews set sail to see in the Solstice, swap stories, and scarf s’mores. The ceremonial conch was sounded to mark spring’s last sunset, although no actual human sacrifice this year.

Check out the few lurid photos at Summer Sailstice 2015 photos

Other details may emerge in the fullness of time.  If you were amongst the seven stout Sailsticers, you claimed to enjoy yourself. At least in public.  God knows what you said privately.  If you didn’t make it this time, why not pencil it in as a waypoint for next year?

Fair winds!
